Yamato Man

For his anime counterpart, see Cache (anime). For the anime episode named after him, see Cache (episode).

Cache (キャッシュ Kyasshu) is the final boss from the game Rockman.EXE Phantom of Network, a NetNavi-like being that manages a Cache Server. He has a second form called Cache 2nd (キャッシュ 2nd Kyasshu 2nd) .

Appearance

In his original form, Cache is a humanoid Navi-like being with white skin, red eyes, rings on the pointy sides of his head and gray lines on his skin.

The Navi mark of Cache shows a two large red curve with one smaller curve being inside the left curve in a dark gray background.

2nd Form

This is the form assumed by Cache after he absorbs all cache data in the server, causing him to transform into a massive, uncontrollable and monstrous form. A massive server appears behind him, filled with lines of green light, with what appears to be wires extending from the server into his body. The same green line patterns also appear on Cache's body, extending from his face to his lower body, with two more stripes on either arm. Cache's lower body becomes sluglike, apparently made up of fragmentary data.

History

Rockman.EXE Phantom of Network

In an abandoned laboratory of the Ministry of Science that used to carry research on the Cyberworld, its server was restarted, possibly to be secretly used by Dr. Wily after he left Ministry of Science. The server was left on for years, and Cache was born from its large Cache Server. Cache has a dislike for humans due to their past actions, and uses cache data to make humans remember the destruction and horror they caused in the past. He attacks the world with copies of NetNavis and his creation JammingMan.

Cache is eventually found by Netto and Rockman in the old Cache Server. After his defeat, he summons 10 JammingMen to cut the communication between Netto and Rockman, saying that the connection between humans and NetNavis is weak. Rockman explains to Cache that he is Netto's brother and they have a strong bond, and they manage to contact through the interference. Cache is unable to believe there is such a strong bond, and gathers a large amount of cache data from the server to his body, increasing his power, but is deleted by Rockman. Before vanishing, he notes that as long as there is forgotten cache data around the internet, a new Cache may be born. With Cache gone, the Cache Server collapses.
