An example of how the same person can differ in different worlds, in this case two versions of Dr. Wily from Mega Man (Dreamwave Productions) and Mega Man (Archie Comics).
The multiverse is the collective term for all universes that exist. The presence of alternate universes was shown in some media from the Mega Man franchise.
The Mega Man games have two primary universes, the "original Mega Man universe" containing the events from most games in the Mega Man, Mega Man X, Mega Man Zero, Mega Man ZX, and Mega Man Legends series, and the "Mega Man Battle Network universe" with the events from most games in the Mega Man Battle Network and Mega Man Star Force series. Those two have multiple universe branches that range from large to negligible differences. Examples of large differences include games with multiple endings, spin-offs, alternate box art and stories, and adaptations to other media like animations and comics. Negligible differences mainly include gameplay elements like the order stages from the Stage Select Screen were completed, items obtained, among others.
