Time Square, known as Yashibu Town (ヤシブタウ Yashibu Taun) in Japan, is a location in the Mega Man Star Force series. It is the series' equivalent to Shibuya.
Time Square has a few notable places and landmarks. It also has many things based on the Mowai (モワイ), a round head Moai-like figure.
- Spinning Mowai: A giant Mowai head spinning in the middle of the plaza.
- Rover statue: Known as Lightning Snowflake Bachikō (デンコウセッカのバチこう Denkousekka no Bachikō) in Japan (Bachi for short). A statue of a faithful white dog. The dog used to wait at the bus stop waiting forever for its master to return, and they would also run at great speed to the bus (this is left out in the English text).
- Nacys: Known as 103 Department Store (103デパート 103 Depāto) in Japan. A giant department store with multiple floors.
- Event Stage: A closed building on the roof of Nacys. At the time of Mega Man Star Force, the stage is hosting a sub-tropical jungle exhibition.
Trivia
- Time Square is likely named after the real-life Times Square in New York.
- Rover is a reference to the Statue of Hachikō of Shibuya. Its Japanese name "Bachikō" is taken from Hachikō's name.
- The English name "Nacys" is a reference to the American department store chain, Macy's. The Japanese name "103" is a reference to 109, a famous department store in Shibuya.
