Model P (モデルP, Moderu Pī) is a Biometal from the Mega Man ZX series containing the essence of Hidden Phantom. Model P's Chosen One can Megamerge with it to become the Shadow Mega Man.

Design

Biometal Model P has a purple coloration and a hexagonal shape resembling Phantom's kunai knives. It parts at the top middle, and its red jewel is roughly half as long as its body with the eyes covered by a white visor, similar to a mask.

When Megamerged alone, it gains the standard Mega Man armor with a purple coloration. The helmet features a white face guard that extends beyond the helmet. It also generates a tattered red cloth as well. The gauntlets are also different, being colored wholly yellow instead and can open up to allow the user to operate its energy weapons. When Double Megamerged with Model X, the face guard becomes a visor, reminiscent of Phantom and the cloth becomes two-tailed and less tattered.

Model P has a polite and intelligent manner of speech. It believes its destiny is to protect the world, and declares that physical might is nothing compared to pure willpower.

History

Mega Man ZX

After Serpent betrayed the Guardians and seized Model W, the first commander of the Guardians created Model P along with five other Biometals to counter the threat.^[1] Eventually, Model P was stolen by Serpent and split into two halves to power the Pseudoroids Purprill the Mandroid and Protectos the Goreroid. They served Serpent in dark and fortified environments, all while concealing Model P itself in the process. After being acquired by Vent/Aile, Model P can Double Megamerge with Model X to form Model PX.

Model P's password to open Area M is Umbra Profess, roughly Latin for 'Shadow Art' or 'Believe in the Shadow', representing both Phantom's affinity for the dark and his loyalty, or belief, in those he values.

Mega Man ZX Advent

Shortly before the story, Model P and the other Biometals were stolen from a Guardian lab by Master Albert's agents.^[2] Prometheus and Pandora then delivered Model P to a new Chosen One, Siarnaq, recruiting him into the Game of Destiny. Upon defeating Siarnaq, Grey/Ashe absorbs his DNA data and Model A gains the ability to copy his Megamerged Model P form. When copying Siarnaq, Grey can throw a giant shuriken and Ashe can summon a shield of blades.

When Siarnaq and the enemy Mega Men appear in Ouroboros, Model Z immobilizes them in order to let Grey/Ashe continue to Albert's throne room. Siarnaq and Model P go missing in the aftermath, but appear Megamerged at Master Thomas' side in the secret ending.

Model P maintains the user's null alignment, granting enhanced defensive capabilities instead. It equips them with kunai launchers on each hand, which can be charged to release a giant shuriken. Model P can summon a ring of blades as a shield, while Model PX can summon a flashing spherical barrier. They can also hang from surfaces and climb onto platforms with ease, and their Radar Scope lets them sense the layout of an area even in the dark. Unique to Model PX is the Overdrive, which grants the user a slight attack buff and temporary intangibility to their dashes.

	Kunai	Y	Model P(X) throws one knife. Holding the button longer results in more knives, up to four at a time. How the knives get thrown differs between the two games. In ZX, the knives will always be thrown straight. In ZX Advent, when 4 knives get thrown, the first two thrown will be angled upwards, while the second two remain straight, making a wider attack radius. This attack can also be done mid-air, where the kunai will be shot four at a time and spread downwards, regardless if Model P(X) is in free fall or hanging from a ledge. This spread pattern is consistent in both games.
	Shuriken / Cross Star	Hold Y and release	Model P(X) throws a giant shuriken star that spins before returning. Can be manipulated by the player's movement, like the Shield Boomerang. This is Grey's unique charge attack in Mega Man ZX Advent.
	Shield	Hold Y, press ↑, and release	Exclusive to ZX. Model PX summons a spherical shield. The shield will absorb yellow shots, and will dissipate under one hit of anything else, similar to a charged Rolling Shield.
	Mandala Star	Hold Y and release (Ashe)	Model P summons six energy blades that act as a damaging shield. While it can erase standard yellow shots, it can also absorb six hits from any other source, with each hit depleting one blade. This is Ashe's unique charge attack in Mega Man ZX Advent.
	Overdrive	X	By activating Overdrive, Model PX gains an attack power boost as well as a shadow-dash, allowing them to phase through enemies and projectiles without taking damage.
	Radar Scope		Model P(X)'s touch screen feature displays a rudimentary map of the area, depicting targets as [!] exclamation points. In Mega Man ZX Advent, tapping the [!] makes Model P throw kunai directly at the target. This model also has the ability to see further in dark areas like certain halls in Area I.

Trivia

• In Mega Man ZX, Model PX is the only playable form to have different standing animations from each other, it holds two fingers up like a ninja.
  • In Mega Man ZX Advent, Model P is also the only one among the five Mega Men copied from Model A to have different standing animations, it hunches over with his arms slack.
• Model P is one of two Biometals that produces armor not the same color as the original Reploid; Phantom has black armor, but Model P produces purple armor. The other is Model F.
• Both Model P and PX's footsteps are silent, reflecting the stealth of a ninja.
• Despite Phantom using a ninjato sword, Model P lacks such a weapon in its arsenal. Conversely, Phantom was never shown using a tool like the claw Model P uses to hang.
• Despite the kunai being depicted as energy projectiles in artwork, they noticeably clatter off of any surface they land on in-game, and appear to be made of some sort of metal.
