Model X (モデルX, Moderu Ekkusu), the Blue Mega Man,^[1] is a Biometal from the Mega Man ZX series. It is the Biomatch of Vent/Aile and contains the essence of X. This Biometal grants the user an X-Buster capable of a Charge Shot, along with the Double Megamerge (ダブルロックオン, Double R.O.C.K. On) to fuse with other Biometals.

Design

Biometal Model X takes on a blocky rhombus shape, vaguely resembling its own Megamerged X-Buster. It has a blue color scheme and a large red crystal, similar to X.

In Megamerged form, the user dons armor very similar to X with gold highlights included and a white trim on the helmet as opposed to the familiar light blue. The jacket armor remains closed. Whenever it Double Megamerges with another Biometal, the armor will change to the corresponding color and the jacket will open up. In addition, the jewel on the helmet, regardless of which form, will shape into an arrow-like design that stretches to the top of the structure. Artwork on the Mega Man Zero/ZX Sound Box portrays the inside of Model X's X-Buster as a gun inside of an arm cannon that the user must pull a trigger to fire.

Model X has a warm and inspiring demeanor. It has great faith in its Biomatch and wants to help them build a better world. It insists that Vent/Aile's strength comes from their bravery, and not necessarily from the Biometals they wield.

History

Mega Man ZX

After Serpent betrayed the Guardians and seized Model W, the first commander of the Guardians created Model X along with five other Biometals to counter the threat.^[2] Years later, Model X is obtained by Vent/Aile in the beginning of the Mega Man ZX game after a meeting with Prairie and a subsequent surprise attack by Mavericks. Recognizing their sense of justice, Model X establishes a link with them and accepts them as its Chosen One. From then on, the Biometal is personally used by the duo before they inherit Model Z, gaining the ability to fuse into the Model ZX Mega Man.

Model X's password for the gate inside Area M is Lumine Infinitus (Infinite Light), referring to X's "Limitless Potential" and hope.

While Model X is only available at the beginning of Mega Man ZX, before being made obsolete by the formation of Model ZX, it can be used normally once the game is cleared with both Vent and Aile on Normal difficulty.

Mega Man ZX Advent

In Mega Man ZX Advent, Vent/Aile still owns Model X and Model Z, fighting as the Model ZX Mega Man to end the Game of Destiny by destroying Model Ws. Inside Ouroboros, Model Z stays behind to stop the other Biometals and allow Vent/Aile and Model X to reach Ashe/Grey. It seems reluctant to let Model Z apparently sacrifice itself, but accepts it.

When Megamerged, the user gains the use of the X-Buster, a powerful projectile weapon that fires energy shots. It can charge and release blasts of energy on three levels. When fully charged, it can fire two Charge Shots in a row, identical to X's Arm Parts in Mega Man X2.

Model X's most unique power is the Double Megamerge (ダブルロックオン, Double R.O.C.K. On). Due to its compatibility with other Biometals, it has the ability to fuse with the other Biometals to combine their powers and enhance their capabilities. This also allows the user to bypass being "chosen" to access another Biometal's powers, as they can fuse any of them with Model X to use their powers. So far, this has resulted in the fusions of Models ZX, HX, FX, LX, PX and OX.

Trivia

• Interestingly, the forms of other Biometals combined with Model X are more like their prototypes than their individual forms. On the contrary, these forms loses the design of X, such as the Buster.
• Model X is the only Biometal form that cannot defeat Serpent's final form. This is because its X-Buster shots cannot reach Serpent's arms in the 2nd phase of the fight, though Model HX's Air Dash can get it close.
